- The following page reads "Delete My Account". Click on "Submit" to start the process of account deletion.
- Based on many user experiences, it appears to be a crucial step NOT to use your Facebook account for 14 days after you have requested deletion. The least interaction with Facebook will cancel the deletion.
Thus, your account will be deactivated for 14 days and eventually deleted permanently if you do not use it meanwhile. In addition better delete all your browsing, forms history and cookies as well, to minimize the risk of accidentally using your account. Also beware of your iPhone and any apps that revert to your Facebook account.
It is crucially important to remember that the account is not deleted until two weeks later.
